Can you share with us the story of ECCO brand, a world leader in innovative comfort shoes?

ECCO, founded in Denmark in 1963, opened its first two mono-brand stores in Istanbul in March last year and successfully entered the Turkish market with 5 stores as planned. ECCO draws attention as one of the few large shoe manufacturers in the world that establishes and manages every stage of its tannery, factory and stores by itself. Headquartered in Denmark, ECCO is a family-owned company and is still under the management of the Kasprzak Toosbuy family. Selling more than 21 million pairs of shoes worldwide annually, ECCO attaches particular importance to the Turkish market. ECCO differentiates itself as the only shoe company in the world that owns and controls every stage of shoe production. ECCO is proud of its superior quality and innovative technology and strives to reflect this quality to the customer. The ECCO brand stands for style and comfort all over the world and defines its success with the slogan “the shoe should follow the foot”. 

ECCO continues its successful production with the philosophy that “the shoe should complement the foot rather than the foot shaping the shoe”. ECCO is the world's second largest footwear manufacturer with 5 production facilities, more than 1,200 mono-brand stores and over 15,000 points of sale worldwide. Danish ECCO is a Scandinavian brand that has increased the number of its stores to 2,989 all over the world and thus managed to increase the number of sales points to 15.000 in 90 countries.

As a brand with 2.989 stores worldwide, can you tell us about your entry into the Turkish market?

We always saw Turkey as the biggest potential among European markets with a population of more than 76 million and an annual market of 200 million pairs of shoes. This did not change even after we entered the market. As planned, we opened 5 ECCO stores in Istanbul in 2014. We offer our products at ECCO Istanbul Marmara Forum, ECCO Forum Istanbul store, ECCO Mall of Istanbul, Özdilek Park and Çekmeköy Metro Garden stores. We plan to open 5 more stores in the next 12 months. Despite the short period of one year, we are extremely pleased with the interest shown by Turkish consumers in our high-tech shoes, bags and accessories, which we produce one hundred percent from our own leathers. ECCO will make significant investments in the retail sector in Turkey in the coming years.

How did your paths cross with Nebim?

We were familiar with Nebim from the sector. The fact that Nebim is in cooperation with many leading companies in the retail sector in Turkey and that we have experienced Nebim software before ECCO had a great impact on our choice of Nebim.

Besides the sector experience; the fact that the Nebim V3 ERP program is above our estimates in terms of meeting our needs is also very effective in our preference.

Could you tell us about the contributions of Nebim V3 to your business processes?

Nebim V3 ERP has accelerated and practicalized our business processes in general. Especially thanks to the easy and effective reporting on the merchandising side, we have the ability to easily report all stores at the same time and take quick decisions.

Among the contributions of Nebim V3 to ECCO, I can especially mention the Web Turnover Application. The fact that we can access store turnover and classification information online with the Web Turnover Application allows us to instantly monitor the turnover movements in all stores during the day and to intervene in a timely and fast manner in stores that we see will fall below the planned turnover target.

Also, the fact that the menus for opening product cards, pricing and defining campaigns are fast and easy, especially for our imported products, the fact that we can practically take the product cards coming from abroad into our own stocks enables us to quickly solve the works that will take days and require a lot of human resources.
Among the contributions of Nebim V3; we can also mention that we can instantly see the expenses made in our stores in the center. The fact that we can instantly track store expenses enables us to perform the expense management of all our stores more easily and quickly.

One other benefit that comes into our lives with Nebim V3 is that we can easily create detailed reports specific to our needs in different analyzes with Nebim V3 Data Warehouse reports. Thanks to these reports, we can make decisions quickly and change the direction of our decisions instantly according to the results.
